THE ‘NANAS PROJECT

This is a project that questions the unicity of the designer as creative, and aims to, via a pseudo scientific method, but more importantly a formal setting, challenge what creativity is. By allowing people, within the formal setting, free range at creativity more unique design solutions were reached than when an auteur driven process was implemented. This speaks to one of the main staples in the Mellbratt & Wiberg toolbox that the process is the engine of good design not necessarily the individual. Thus we challenge the post-modern individuation rather than the auteur theory as such. Also leveraging the unconscious thought processes of the populace whilst questioning the unicity of the designer as the unique source of creativity in a scientific setting.
